The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) says its oversight of government-owned enterprises has facilitated ₦1.84 trillion in operating surplus and internally generated revenue remittances into the Consolidated Revenue Fund as of September 2025. Despite lower revenue between January and May 2026, the commission has already recorded over ₦760 billion and is targeting ₦2.5 trillion for the year. Acting Chairman Charles Abana also unveiled reforms including an automated operating surplus template, a new strategic plan, stronger collaboration with anti-corruption agencies and proposed amendments to the Fiscal Responsibility Act to boost transparency and enforcement.
