RENEWING STRENGTH IN PRAYER

Text: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isa 40:31

There are different forms of strength in life; physical strength, mental strength and spiritual strength. Out of them all the most important is the spiritual strength. This is a major requirement in our journey into destiny. It’s a natural sequence that strength depletes after a while; this is why strength must be renewed.

Our focus in this study is spiritual strength. This is also referred to as the inner strength. This is basically a function of our spirit man. Just as an athlete goes out to exercise his muscles to develop strength so also we receive strength in our inner man in the place of prayer. There are some indicators that will show us that our inner strength is getting depleted;

1. When we get discouraged so easily – This is a clear indication that we are running on a low level of strength.

2. When we easily get angry over petty issues – Its shows that our inner ability to endure is gone.

3. When fear has an easy grip on us – Fear is a spirit that easily takes advantage of our time of weakness.

4. When we seem to be more confused that having direction concerning our lives.

When you notice any of these it’s time for a renewal of strength. As we go to God in prayer our inner strength is renewed to mount up with wings as eagles. When this happens, we’ll run and not be weary, we’ll walk and not faint. As you begin to pray it may not look as if something is happening; but your spirit man is getting energised and built up. The best way to pray for our spirit man to receive strength is to pray in the spirit. We are built on the inside as we pray in the Spirit. Set out time every day to renew your inner strength.
