THE BLINDFOLD OF OBJECTIVITY

Somewhere, somehow, I began to wonder:

Have we mistaken blindness for objectivity? We celebrate the blindfold upon the judge, Calling it impartiality. Yet I ask, can justice truly prevail by refusing to see? Objectivity is not the absence of sight; It is the discipline to see everything without surrendering to prejudice.

A judge who cannot see May ignore status but may also miss suffering. May reject appearance but overlook context. May silence bias yet fail to recognize truth hidden within circumstance. Blindness is not wisdom. Neither is sight corruption. The highest form of justice is not blind to reality; It is blind only to favoritism.

Perhaps the blindfold was never meant to cover the eyes but to restrain the heart From prejudice. For objectivity is not achieved by seeing less but by seeing more and loving truth more than preference.
