A fallen utility pole blocked a major road for hours, causing traffic and inconvenience. Like many people, my first thought was, "Another failure of leadership."

But then I wondered: what happens when everyone keeps waiting for someone else to take responsibility? Leadership matters, but so does the attitude of the people carrying out the work every day.

The followers of today become the leaders of tomorrow. If we want a better society, accountability and excellence must start with us, in whatever role we have.
