Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the RCCG is a man with immense local and international influence, respect and goodwill. And I respect him as an elder in the faith.

But on his take that Tinubu's role as a C-in-C stops at giving orders to the military commanders I disagree. It's much more. He, like any other leader in whatever setup, takes the responsibility for the overall success of any ventures through close monitoring and refining his orders.

✓What kind of orders has he been giving to his military commanders?
✓Are the orders unambiguous, measurable and achievable?
✓Do the orders come with deliverables and timelines?
✓Are there feedback mechanisms?

✓Has the C-in-C provided his field commanders with commensurate modern arsenal, possibly superior to the enemies' arsenal, to prosecute their operations?
✓Are there adequate (not necessarily enough) booths on ground available for every operation?
✓Has he put in place a welfare regime that can motivate his military commanders and men to lay down their lives in the battlefield? ✓Remember soldiers are human beings first and foremost.

✓And what's the impact of the confusing policy statements by the political commanders on the military commanders? Such policy statements as "terrorists are our brothers", "terrorists are our prodigal children" and the Operation Safe Corridor where captured murderous terrorists are rehabilitated, freed and released into the society?

I could go on and on just to make the point that being a leader, especially C-in-C is far more than giving orders and retiring to sleep otherwise even my Mum in the village can be a C-in-C, order the military commanders to clear the country of insecurity and go to sleep, expecting that it will be done.

How a C-in-C honestly answers these posers affect the overall outcome of military operations one way or the other.
