African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has returned to Nigeria following a brief business trip abroad, paving the way for the expected official unveiling of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election. His return also comes as political parties begin submitting presidential nomination documents to INEC through the commission’s nomination portal. Although the ADC has named Amaechi as its vice-presidential candidate, Atiku is yet to make the formal public announcement. His media team has maintained that there is no disagreement over the vice-presidential slot, describing the delay as purely procedural.
