Your Excellencies, 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep frustration shared by many Nigerians who feel abandoned by those elected to serve them. For decades, successive governments—past and present, across parties and independent platforms—have failed to use Nigeria’s vast resources to improve the lives of the 240 million citizens who depend on responsible leadership.
Instead of investing tax revenues in free housing, functional hospitals, quality education, and large-scale farming across the 36 states and 774 local government areas, Nigerians are being offered symbolic gestures like akara and corn. These gestures do not address the structural problems facing our nation.
Other countries use public funds to build strong systems: free education, modern technical training in IT, mechanics, electrical work, plumbing, and more. These investments empower citizens and strengthen national development. Nigerians deserve the same.
Respectfully sirs/madam we demand answers. Where is the money being used? Why are our children kidnapped since 1999 still not rescued? Why are the root causes of boko haram still unaddressed? Why are basic services—clean streets, functioning waste systems, safe communities—still out of reach for millions?
Respectfully to the governors of the 36 states and the 774 LGAs: keep your states clean, transparent, and accountable. Nigerians support the idea of state police, but we fear that without safeguards, state resources will be misused and peaceful protesters harmed instead of protected.
We demand:
Free housing programs
Free and quality education
New and functional hospitals in all states and LGAs
Real investment in agriculture and local industries
Transparency in public spending
Urgent action to rescue kidnapped citizens and address insecurity at its roots
Respectfully to Senator Remi Tinubu Nigerians respectfully ask that you step back from initiatives that appear disconnected from the suffering of 240 million Nigerians. If akara and corn are truly the model of empowerment being promoted, then let your family respectfully lead by example and build that business first.
Respectfully to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: Nigerians demand accountability, transparency, and leadership that prioritizes 240 million Nigerians. If these responsibilities cannot be met, then resignation is the honorable path with all due respect sir
