Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates, courts 240 million Nigerians write to you as a deeply concerned Nigerian citizen who are alarmed by recent reports from the north-east. The situation has raised serious questions about the directive asking Nigerian soldiers to work alongside so‑called “repentant” insurgents in active military operations.
Respectfully sirs, boko haram and related extremist groups have caused immeasurable suffering, loss of life, and trauma since the late 1990s. These groups are responsible for mass killings, kidnappings, displacement, and the destruction of communities. Nigerian soldiers have fought and died confronting these terrorists. It is therefore understandable that our troops are rejecting any directive that places them side‑by‑side with individuals who once took up arms against the Nigerian people. Mr. president 240 million Nigerians must be compensated first with free houses, free education new hospitals in the 36 states 774 LGA terrorist should all be in jail with all due respect sirs
With respect, this approach would never be adopted in the United States, the European Union, or any of the 195 countries that prioritize national security. Terrorists have no place in Nigeria’s security architecture. Trust, intelligence integrity, and troop morale are essential for successful operations. Any compromise puts both soldiers and civilians at risk.
Mr. President, the root causes of boko haram must be addressed decisively. Nigerians support the military’s refusal not to work with individuals who once participated in violence against 240 million Nigerians. The global community is aware that kidnapping and ransom have become a criminal industry in Nigeria, and 240 million Nigerians believe that political actors—past and present—have failed to confront this crisis with the urgency it demands.
Sir, if the government cannot eliminate terrorism, protect Nigerian children, and restore safety, then it is only fair to ask whether the current strategy is effective. We say this with respect, not hostility. Nigerians demand action, not speeches.
Now that the State Police Bill has been passed, we demand you to ensure immediate implementation. Each of the 36 states and 774 LGAs must recruit officers from their own communities, equipped with body cameras, drones, and CCTV systems. Security must be local, transparent, and accountable.
We also demand for:
Job creation across all 36 states 774 LGA no lies, no slogans
Investment in agriculture to achieve food security
Free housing and free education up to the PhD level
New hospitals and improved healthcare access
Fulfillment of your promises regarding electricity and internet access
Respectfully sirs, 240 million Nigerians continue to live with hunger, poverty, and darkness while political leaders enjoy free housing, free electricity, and full security. We do not intend disrespect, but we must speak the truth leadership must reflect sacrifice. Political salaries should align with the realities of 240 million Nigerians.
We also call on the United States, the European Union, and the global community to demand the current administration, opposition parties, and independent candidates to work together with state governors to create jobs, invest in farming, and secure the nation. Stop wasting Nigerian tax money with TV interviews, speeches, photo ops courts cases that are distractions and global joke
Finally, we demand the safe return of all children kidnapped since 1999. Their absence is a wound that has never healed.
Nigeria deserves peace, justice, and prosperity. We demand you, respectfully but firmly, to act with urgency.
