End Of Week. Here's What I Actually Want You To Do This Weekend.
Not apply to forty jobs. Not panic-rewrite your entire CV in one sitting at midnight. Something smaller, and more useful.
Pick one application you've been putting off — the one that feels slightly too senior, slightly too competitive, the one you've half-written and abandoned three times.
Spend thirty honest minutes with it this weekend. Not finishing it. Just being honest with yourself about what's actually stopping you from sending it.
Most of the time, when I ask people this question directly, the answer isn't "I'm not qualified." It's "I'm scared of being told no, so I keep almost-finishing it instead of finding out."
I understand that fear completely. But an application sitting unfinished in a drafts folder has already given you the no, permanently, without anyone on a panel ever having the chance to say yes.
This week we covered Duty of Candour, the GMC domains, Trust research, CESR portfolio structure, the NMC Code, deteriorating patient answers, and Agenda for Change banding.
That's a lot to take in. You don't need to master all of it by Monday. You need to take one real, specific action with it.
Rest properly this weekend. Then come back and finish the thing you've been avoiding.
Cheers to your success, feel free to reach out if you need help, I respond to all messages personally. Will be in the DM responding to your messages.
