NIGERIA'S FEDERALISM: WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU 🇳🇬

Scholars say true federalism needs 3 things:

✅ Power shared not hoarded
✅ Constitution respected not rewritten when convenient
✅ States allowed to breathe not suffocated by Abuja

HOW IT WORKS ON PAPER:

🔴 FEDERAL ONLY: Defence, Currency, Foreign Affairs
🟡 BOTH FEDERAL & STATE: Education, Health, Agriculture
🟢 STATE & LOCAL GOV: Land, Local Roads, Primary Schools, Markets

HOW IT WORKS IN REALITY:

❌ Exclusive List: 68 items
❌ Concurrent List: 30 items
❌ States control almost nothing that matters
❌ Your LG Chairman? Most people don't even know his name

ASK YOURSELF:

Can your state have its own police?
Its own power grid?
Fix your road without begging Abuja?

If no , are we truly federal, or just unitary in disguise?

Power was meant to be CLOSE to the people.
Not locked in one city.
