Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Your Excellency Governor of Ondo State, Opposition parties, independent parties, courts, efcc 240 million Nigerians write to you as a concerned Nigerians who believes deeply in discipline, accountability, and the future of Nigerian youth. While we do not condone any form of misconduct by Nigerian students, we respectfully appeal for a more constructive and rehabilitative approach regarding the recent sanctions placed on the 17 students involved in the sign‑out incident in Ondo State.

Expelling students or withholding their WASSCE results may create long‑term harm. When young Nigerians are pushed out of school, they become more vulnerable to crime, exploitation, and hopelessness. Nigeria has witnessed decades of corruption across institutions—past and present governments, courts, and agencies such as the EFCC have faced serious allegations—yet officials are not expelled from their roles. Our children should not bear harsher consequences than adults entrusted with national responsibility.

Nigeria has over 240 million citizens, most of them young. These youths deserve free education, opportunity, and a chance to contribute meaningfully to society. They belong in classrooms, not on the streets. We respectfully request that the affected students be reinstated, issued formal warnings, and supported with counseling and mentorship rather than punitive expulsion.

Beyond this specific case, we urge the Federal Government to address the broader systemic issues affecting Nigerian youth:

Create sustainable jobs and industries, especially in agriculture and manufacturing in the 36 states 774 LGA

Fulfill commitments to stable free electricity, digital access, and nationwide connectivity.

Provide free and accessible education from primary to PhD across all 36 states and 774 LGAs.

Expand affordable/free housing, healthcare, and security for all citizens.

Address the root causes of insecurity, including boko haram, and ensure the safe return of all kidnapped children since 1999.

Nigeria’s young people are not the problem—they are the solution. With the right support, they can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous nation. We appeal to you to reconsider the sanctions on these students and to invest in long‑term reforms that uplift, rather than punish, the next generation of Nigerians future
