🚨⚽FIFA is looking partner European Football Clubs (EFC) to expand the Club World Cup tournament from 32 to 48 clubs by the next edition in 2029, after pressure from leading European sides attracted by the competition's financial rewards.
Chelsea earned around £84 million for winning the first tournament in 2025, while clubs such as Liverpool, Barcelona and Napoli, who won their leagues that year, missed out on it altogether.
UFEA are among other body pushing to remove FIFA's limit of two clubs per country, which could benefit Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, who are currently in the top eight of the UEFA coefficient table.
