๐จ BREAKING NEWS: NDLEA Arrests Mexican, 4 Others; Recovers Multi-Billion-Naira Worth of Illicit Substances in Forest Hideout
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded one of the biggest drug busts in Nigeria's history after dismantling a sophisticated drug production syndicate allegedly operated by a Nigerian cartel and Mexican collaborators. ๐ณ
According to the NDLEA, operatives uncovered a massive clandestine methamphetamine laboratory hidden deep inside a forest in southwestern Nigeria. The operation led to the arrest of Mexican nationals and several Nigerian suspects linked to the cartel.
Authorities say over 2.4 tonnes of methamphetamine and chemical materials with an estimated international value of more than โฆ480 billion were recovered during the raid. Investigators also seized vehicles, passports, mobile devices, and other items believed to have been used in the illegal operation. Reports indicate that the cartel allegedly brought in foreign experts to manufacture the illicit substances locally. ๐
NDLEA Chairman, Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd), described the operation as a major blow against transnational organized crime and warned that Nigeria will remain hostile territory for drug cartels.
