Urgent Call for Accountability and Democratic Reforms in Nigeria
Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians write to you on behalf of millions of Nigerians who are deeply concerned about the direction of our nation. 240 million Nigerians believe that your administration has not delivered on key promises, particularly regarding the protection of Nigerian children, addressing the root causes of boko haram, and improving national infrastructure.
There is widespread frustration over unfulfilled commitments, including the pledge to provide uninterrupted electricity, nationwide free Wi-Fi/data, and meaningful economic relief. Nigerians continue to face hardship, insecurity, and lack of opportunity, and many feel that the government has not taken sufficient action to address these urgent issues.
As a result, many Nigerians are calling for your resignation sir. This message reflects the sentiment of 240 million Nigerians who believe that leadership must be accountable when promises to remain unmet and when national suffering persists for decades
Respectfully we also call on the United States, the United Kingdom, and other democratic partners to encourage stronger governance standards in Nigeria. We urge them to support reforms that strengthen our democracy, including:
Real-time electronic transmission of election results across all 36 states and 774 LGAs
The abolition of manual vote counting in the 36 states 774 LGA
Deployment of drones and CCTV cameras nationwide to ensure election transparency and public safety
Stronger oversight from institutions such as the courts and the EFCC
Ensuring that public officials who contribute to corruption do not benefit from privileges abroad while ordinary Nigerians suffer at home
These requests come from a desire for a more transparent, secure, and prosperous Nigeria. No nation is perfect, and no leader is expected to be flawless, but accountability is essential for democracy to function.
We demand that you listen to the voices of Nigerians who are demanding change, reform, and responsible leadership. We are tired of the lies/slogans for decades
