Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya has reportedly divorced his second wife just a year after their marriage.
According to Akin, a few months after they got married, he and Nafisat were supposed to attend an event together, but she told him she was not going.
Before he got home, she had packed her belongings and left their matrimonial home without informing him.
He said all his efforts to reconcile with her and get her to return home were unsuccessful, as she insisted on not coming back.
This led him to dissolve the marriage.
One year. Just one year.
A woman leaves without warning. Without explanation. Without giving him a chance to fix whatever was broken.
She packed her things while he was out. She left before he got home. She refused to come back. She refused to talk. She refused to try.
Now let me ask you.
What would make a woman walk out like that? Not a fight. Not an argument. Just silence and absence.
Was she already checked out before the wedding? Did something happen in those few months that broke her completely? Or did she simply realize she made a mistake and decided to cut her losses?
Akin says he tried everything. He begged. He reached out. He wanted her back. She said no.
At what point do you stop fighting for someone who has already left? At what point do you accept that no means no, even when it breaks you?
Marriage is supposed to be a partnership. Two people building something together. But you cannot build with someone who has already packed their bags.
