Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, initially designated as Nigeria ambassador to Germany, claimed he sought presidential approval to swap with Senator Ita Enang and be posted to South Africa because, according to him, he and SA share common political convictions on the plight of the Palestinians and their strong abhorrence for Israel. Indeed he's been very vocal in condemning Israel since the outbreak of hostilities between the two parties in October 2024. Fair enough, because he's entitled to his political beliefs.

But for weeks his beloved South Africa, its people and the State, have been unrelenting in their xenophobic attacks against the rest of black Africa, particularly his fellow Nigerians, brutally killing, maiming and destroying properties. Yet FFK's silence has been so loud it's deafening. I wonder how he reconciles his love for the double-faced SA.

AOJ: You're spot on, sir. Let me state for the record that I was one of those who didn't buy his puerile and lame excuse for opting for South Africa instead of going to Germany.
