Over the last three decades, the United Kingdom has had nine prime ministers. Seven of them attended Oxford University either as undergraduate or postgraduate students. The list includes Tony Blair, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak and, most recently, Keir Starmer, who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Leeds before pursuing postgraduate legal studies at Oxford. Only Gordon Brown and John Major reached Britain's highest political office without any Oxford connection.

James Lambie: I'm not sure if Oxford University celebrates this fact or not.
It's hardly a resounding endorsement of their institution, more a damning indictment of a system that keeps recycling the same mediocre 'elite'.
But it's a good and salient read.
