ABSG TO PARTNER HILTON INTERNATIONAL ON FIVE-STAR HOTEL PROJECT IN UMUAHIA

In an effort towards transforming Umuahia, the Abia state capital into a major hospitality and investment destination, the Abia state government is planning to partner Hilton International to establish a world-class five-star hotel in the state capital.

The proposed project, which will operate under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, is expected to boost tourism, attract investors, create employment opportunities and strengthen the state's growing economy.

Speaking in Umuahia on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 after an inspection visit by a delegation from Hilton International to Umuahia, Governor Alex Otti reaffirmed his administration's commitment to excellence and sustainable development

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba stated that Hilton's reputation for quality service delivery and global standards informed the government's decision to partner with the brand
