Nigeria cannot accept another compromised poll. Under Prof. Amupitan, INEC’s failure in Ekiti—BVAS malfunctions, open vote-buying, and blatant coercion—exposes an electoral catastrophe. Technology that succeeds elsewhere collapses here because there’s no genuine will to make it work; past “technical glitches” were not accidents but structural sabotage. If reforms aren’t instituted now, 2027 will reproduce fraud on a larger scale. The ruling party appears to be building parallel, illegal vote records, a scheme already visible in Ekiti State.
