Your Excellencies President Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concerns shared by many Nigerians regarding the transparency and credibility of our electoral process.

240 million Nigerians, as well as observers across the USA, UK, and over 195 countries, did not have visibility into how votes were counted. This lack of transparency has severely damaged public trust in INEC, the courts, the EFCC, and other institutions responsible for safeguarding our democracy.

If elections continue without real-time transmission of results, without technological safeguards, and with manual counting that cannot be independently verified, 240 million Nigerians will view the process as compromised. A credible election must be seen to be credible and visible to the global world

We therefore demand the following measures to restore confidence:

Real-time electronic transmission of all election results

No hand counting without simultaneous digital verification

Deployment of drones and CCTV cameras across all 36 states and 774 LGAs

Full transparency accessible to 240 million Nigerians and international observers

Without these safeguards, Nigerians will continue to believe the process is rigged, and the global community will question the legitimacy of the outcomes.

We also note that the re-elected Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, extended a hand of fellowship to other contestants after being declared winner of the June 20, 2026 election. This gesture of unity is commendable, but unity must be built on trust, and trust requires transparency.
