Lagos waste woes fuel clash between Rhodes-Vivour and Commissioner Wahab.

Rhodes-Vivour accused Wahab of failed waste policies and demanded his resignation, pointing to overflowing bins in areas like Igando and Surulere that block roads and markets.

Wahab countered with stats on evacuating 13,200 tonnes daily, blackspot clearances, and enforcement against illegal dumpers, while noting challenges like rain delays and resident non-payment.

Tensions peaked when Wahab called him "Dear Chinedu." Rhodes-Vivour labeled it an ethnic slur.

Governor Sanwo-Olu responded by launching a Special Task Force and enlisting transport unions as Waste Police for zero-tolerance monitoring.

Then Rhodes-Vivour fired back.

"Typical. So typical of the APC. Once they lose the argument, they retreat into hate mongering, ethnic slurs, and divisive rhetoric.

The names are Gbadebo, Chinedu, Patrick RHODES-VIVOUR. Take your pick of any of the three and let's focus on the work you were entrusted to do."

Now let me ask you.

Why does every serious conversation in Nigeria quickly turn into tribalism?

Is calling someone "Chinedu" really an ethnic slur or is that a stretch?

Who is really failing Lagos residents? The commissioner or the system?

And most importantly, will the new Waste Police actually fix the problem or is this just another political show?

These are not attacks. These are questions.
