To The Esteemed JAMB Stakeholders and Board Members we hope this message finds you well. 240 million Nigerians are writing to express my appreciation for the recent policy decision announced on Sunday, June 21, 2026, regarding the discontinuation of admissions into affiliated degree programmes in Colleges of Education. Many of us have been advocating for this reform for decades, and it is encouraging to see decisive action taken to strengthen the integrity of Nigeria’s teacher education system. They are the backbone of Nigerians children education globally

Your decision to make the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) the primary route for teacher preparation is a significant step toward restoring standards and ensuring that the pathway into the profession is clear and structured.

Respectfully we would also like to highlight a broader concern shared by many Nigerians. Beyond teacher education, there is a strong need to rethink national development priorities. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), while historically important, has increasingly become a time-consuming process with limited practical value for many graduates. Redirecting resources toward job creation across the 36 states and 774 local government areas would have a far greater impact on youth empowerment and national productivity.

Additionally, admission into universities should ideally rely on WAEC results, with a stronger emphasis on practical, globally relevant skills. Courses in information technology, plumbing, electrical work, mechanical skills, and other hands-on fields are essential for equipping our population of over 240 million with employable and exportable skills.

Thank you once again for taking a bold step in reforming the education sector. We hope further reforms will continue to align with the needs of Nigeria’s young and growing population in the 36 states 774 LGA. kudos to you sirs really appreciated keep up the good work
