Today is Father's Day.
A day set aside to celebrate fathers. To honor them. To appreciate them. To remind them that they matter.
But let me ask you something.
Who is a father?
Is it the man who gave you his name? Is it the man who paid your school fees? Is it the man who provided shelter and food? Is it the man who was present at every milestone?
Or is it the man who showed up when it mattered most?
Fathers are not perfect. Some were present. Some were absent. Some were heroes. Some were villains. Some gave everything. Some gave nothing.
But today is not about the ones who failed. Today is about the ones who tried. The ones who sacrificed. The ones who stayed when leaving was easier. The ones who fought for their children even when they had nothing left to give.
To every father who woke up early and came home late. To every father who put his children's needs before his own. To every father who corrected with love and not anger. To every father who prayed for his children even when he had no words. To every father who is no longer here but left a legacy that lives on.
We see you. We honor you. We celebrate you.
And to the single mothers who became both mother and father. We see you too. You are fathers in every way that matters.
So today, call your father. If he is alive, tell him you love him. If he is gone, remember him. If he was absent, forgive him. If he was abusive, protect your peace but release the bitterness. Because carrying anger only weighs you down.
Now let me ask you.
What is the greatest lesson your father taught you?
If you are a father, what kind of father are you?
What kind of father do you want to be remembered as?
Drop your answers in the replies. Let us celebrate fathers together.
Happy Father's Day to all the good fathers out there. ❤️
