A 21-year-old man, Junior Izuchukwu, has narrated how he was allegedly detained, starved and tortured for nearly three months after rejecting a cybercrime job, popularly known as yahoo, he was lured to Enugu State to do.

His account emerged following the escape of three young men who were allegedly held captive under inhumane conditions inside a residential building in Enugu.

The victims, identified as Joseph Ibangwu, Izuchukwu and Miracle Tochukwu, were allegedly lured from Ebonyi State with promises of legitimate employment in Enugu.

Instead, they became trapped in what residents and rights activists described was a sophisticated cybercrime operation.
