This morning, I pose no question concerning what the world oweth thee, but rather, what bringest thou unto the table of humanity?

Some bring riches, and some bring knowledge.

Yet there are souls whose wealth is found in simpler treasures.

One bringeth calm into troubled rooms.

Another, hope unto weary hearts.

One listeneth without haste.

Another remembereth names, birthdays, and forgotten dreams.

Some carry laughter. Some carry wisdom. Some carry opportunities. Some carry burdens not their own.

And some, though they know it not, are the answer to prayers uttered by strangers.

For humanity is not sustained by bread alone, but by countless unseen gifts exchanged between ordinary souls.

So before this day is spent, ask thyself:

"When men depart from my company, what do they carry away?"

For we all sit at the table of mankind.

And every soul bringeth something.

May it be something worthy.
