Where President Tinubu missed the essence of governance is in the gap between promises and performance. It is one thing to talk and another to walk the talk.

President Tinubu sought the highest office in Nigeria knowing fully well that the country faced serious challenges requiring urgent solutions. Three years into his administration, many Nigerians are still waiting to see meaningful improvements in their daily lives. Instead, there is a growing perception that those closest to power—family members, friends, and political allies—have benefited more than ordinary citizens.

Leadership is ultimately measured by results, not speeches. Nigerians deserve a government that addresses insecurity, unemployment, inflation, poverty, and infrastructure deficits with urgency and accountability.

If a leader is unable to deliver on the mandate entrusted to him by the people, the honorable course of action is to acknowledge that reality and step aside, allowing others the opportunity to offer solutions and move the nation forward.
