In other countries, social media is mainly seen as entertainment, but in Nigeria it is an opportunity, a classroom, business tool, skill hub, and space for civic engagement. With about 95% of Nigerians already online, a ban is impractical and unfair, especially to young people using it responsibly and productively. Foreign policies should not be imposed without considering our reality.
