“During my NYSC days, I rented an apartment, and my landlady had a grown-up daughter.

Almost every day, the daughter would bring me food. I won't lie, I was eating it with my full chest. Who doesn't like free food?

At first, I thought they were just being nice, so I didn't read any meaning into it.

Then I started noticing signs. The daughter would come over to my place, sit down, and watch TV with me till late, and the mother never complained. Not once.

The thing is, I already had a serious girlfriend at the time, who's now my wife. So I invited her to come visit me, thinking it would quietly clear the air.

But it didn’t, that was the beginning of double wahala.

From that day, if I greeted the landlady, she would act like she didn't hear me. The daughter started giving me attitude. And just like that, my free food subscription was cancelled.

The cold w@r continued until my service year ended, and I moved out.

Till today, I still don't know if the mother wanted me to date her daughter or if I was just imagining things.

But men, be careful out there. Sometimes, free food is not really free”
