This #FIFAWC2026 has honored the legends of the sport with a special detail: Exclusive patches on their jerseys. There's four different patches only a exclusive few have worn and they're all very meaningful.

Here's a detailed list of what they mean and who gets the honor:

🏆 Gold badge for World Cup winners:

🇧🇷 Brazil (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002),
🇩🇪 Germany (1954, 1974, 1990 [all as West Germany], 2014),
🇦🇷 Argentina (1978, 1986, 2022),
🇫🇷 France (1998, 2018),
🇺🇾 Uruguay (1930, 1950),
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England (1966),
🇪🇸 Spain (2010).

🥇 Golden boot winner's patch:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Harry Kane (England),
🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappe (France),
🇨🇴 James Rodriguez (Colombia).

🥇 Golden glove winner's patch:

🇦🇷 Emiliano Martinez (Argentina), 🇧🇪 Thibaut Courtois (Belgium),

🌟🥇 Legacy' patch - Exclusive honor awarded to players who have appeared in five or more World Cups:

💫 Debut patch - Worn by any player making their very first appearance at a World Cup. Notable players sporting the debut patch include:

This summer's event is likely to produce upwards of 600 cards. It means there will be a huge stock of debut cards from the 2026 and 2030 finals to create a set of World Cup collectables.

Cape Verde, Curacao, Jordan and Uzbekistan made their first ever appearances.

Austria, the Czech Republic, DR Congo, Haiti, Iraq, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Scotland and Turkey are back after very long absences.

Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ivory Coast returned for the first time in 12 years and will have almost complete squads of debutants.

The new patches are part of a long-term collaboration between football's world governing body #FIFA and Topps trading cards.

As part of this, they will removed from match-worn shirts immediately after games and then become physical memorabilia for football fans to collect inside packs.

The deal with Topps - which is owned by Fanatics - does not start until 2031, when Fifa's long-time deal with rival trading card company Panini ends.
