While painting this picture, it dawned on me that life hits different.
It doesn't visit us all the same way. For some, it arrives with open doors and gentle winds. For others, with storms they never asked for and burdens they never deserved.
We've all been touched by life, but not by the same hands. Things rarely turn out exactly as we planned, and some have had far more of the hard road than the easy one.
So today, when we find ourselves looking at faces we do not know, may we be slow to judge and quick to show grace.
For everyone carries a story hidden beneath the skin.
And if life has taught us anything, it is this:
Life hits different.
