Your LinkedIn Profile Is Being Checked By NHS Recruiters Before Your TRAC Application Is Opened. Here Is What They Are Finding — And What It Is Costing You.

NHS recruiters check LinkedIn.

Not every recruiter. Not every time.

But enough times — particularly for Clinical Fellow, Band 7, and senior posts — that your LinkedIn profile is a live part of your application that you have probably never treated as such.

Here is what they are looking for. And here is what most internationally trained healthcare professionals are showing them instead.

What they are looking for: A professional headline that confirms your registration and specialty. A summary that demonstrates NHS awareness — Good Medical Practice language, governance framework familiarity, patient safety commitment.

Clinical experience presented in outcome-led language, not job description language. CPD activity — courses completed, conferences attended, articles engaged with. Professional engagement — comments that demonstrate clinical thinking, not just post likes.

What most IMGs are showing them: A headline that says "Doctor" or "Nurse" or "Physiotherapist" with no specialty, no registration, no NHS relevance. A summary written like a personal statement for medical school — aspirational, values-based, and entirely unspecific.

Work experience that reads like an HR record — dates, institutions, titles — with no clinical outcomes, no governance language, and no NHS framework alignment. Certifications that are listed but not contextualised — "ACLS" without noting it is from AHA and current, "OET" without noting your band.

A recruiter who checks your LinkedIn and finds none of the NHS markers they are looking for will not necessarily reject you. But they will form an impression that your formal application then has to overcome — rather than confirm.

The rebuild is not complicated. It is specific.

DM me "LINKEDIN" and I will send you the NHS-specific LinkedIn headline formula and summary structure for your profession and grade.

Post 4 drops at 2:00 PM — the Freedom to Speak Up question. The one that is now in every interview and that most IMGs do not know is a scored competency.
