Shell has appointed Elohor Aiboni as Executive Vice President and Country Chair Nigeria, making history as the first Nigerian to hold the combined leadership role. Aiboni, who previously served as Managing Director of SNEPCo and is currently Asset Director at Brunei Shell Petroleum, will assume office on August 1, succeeding Marno de Jong after his 34-year career with the energy giant. With more than two decades of experience across Shell’s Nigerian and international operations, Aiboni has played a key role in advancing offshore investments and operational performance, including leading SNEPCo during the milestone achievement of Bonga’s one billionth barrel of oil in 2023. Her appointment marks a significant leadership milestone for Nigeria’s energy sector and underscores Shell’s continued commitment to local talent and business growth.
