๐ JUST IN:
๐ณ๐ฌ Nigeria has 37 billion barrels of crude oil reserves โ ranking as the 11th largest in the world BUT over 100 million of our people are trapped in extreme poverty. ๐
How does a nation so blessed by nature still struggle to feed its children, power its homes, or build industries that lift families out of hardship? Oil accounts for over 80% of our exports and government revenue, but the wealth rarely trickles down to the average Nigerian.
This is the classic "resource curse" โ abundant riches, but widespread suffering. Corruption, oil theft, environmental degradation in the Niger Delta, poor governance, and over-reliance on crude have kept millions in the shadows while a few benefit.
It's time for real change:
- Diversify the economy beyond oil
- Invest oil revenue in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture
- Fight corruption with genuine accountability
- Create real jobs and opportunities for our teeming youth
Nigeria deserves better. The potential is there โ the people are resilient and hardworking. What we need is leadership that puts citizens first.
