"Congratulations on your divorce!"
A phrase that would have shocked many people a few years ago is now appearing on banners, invitations, and social media posts.
Marriage was once celebrated as the beginning of a lifelong commitment. Today, in some circles, even its end is becoming a reason for public celebration.
This raises an important question:
Have we become more courageous in leaving unhealthy relationships, or have we become less committed to working through challenges?
Not every marriage should continue at all costs, especially where abuse, violence, or danger exists. But when divorce becomes something to celebrate like a wedding, it is worth reflecting on what it says about our changing values as a society.
Perhaps the real issue is not whether divorce should be condemned or celebrated, but why so many marriages are breaking down in the first place.
What are your thoughts?
