The proposed amendment to the Electricity Act 2023 comes at a time when many states have already assumed full responsibility under the existing law and have begun implementing its provisions. Several states have taken advantage of the opportunities created by the Act to develop their own electricity laws, tailored to their specific needs and designed to regulate electricity markets at the state level.
