I am not a glutton.

I don't know what is wrong.

I don't even know how to explain.

Okay this is what happened.

Last week Friday after work, I decided to visit an old classmate of mine. We had lost contact for a very long time, only for us to run into each other on social media some weeks back. He insisted I knew his house and so he gave me his address. Last week Friday was when I decided to give him that surprise visit.

I got to his house and I was welcomed.

He looked so happy to see me.

Wow.

This guy had made it.

Ekene was now a big boy. This guy was living large.

If you see this man's house. Oh my God.

God will punish poverty wherever it is.

Ekene's house was a masterpiece.

I walked into his house and had to compose myself like I was used to all this kind of big things.

Ekene was very comfortable.

In my heart, I prayed for him to leave me and go somewhere. I wanted to take in every corner of his house. I wanted to admire it until I had gotten satisfied. I wanted to feed my eyes till e belleful.

Chai.

Anyway, forget Ekene's house. That one self was not even the problem.

The problem was when Ekene told me to get myself a drink from the bar and a glass from the fridge.

I walked to the bar and saw all the drinks.

Chaii. Every single bottle was filled to the brim. Only one bottle was empty. So Ekene bought drinks and decided not to drink them. Chaii.

I picked a bottle. I walked to the fridge to pick a glass and that was where my eyes saw something else entirely.

Ekene was storing all kinds of enjoyment in his fridge.

See milk.

See oranges.

See fried turkey.

See ice cream like 7 rubbers.

See burger almost 8 and neatly arranged.

See cabin biscuit like 3 cartons.

See cornflakes.

See watermelon.

See pineapple and apple.

Chaii...

I say God punish poverty. In fact e no go better for am.

I walked over to Ekene and asked him if he had recently gone shopping. I could not hold my mouth from talking o.

Ekene told me himself. He said that all those drinks and things in the fridge were bought over a month ago. He said he rarely eats or drinks self.

My mind shifted and I started looking at my own life.

After my time with Ekene, I decided not to live a poor man's life again.

How can my own fridge be carrying a pot of draw soup that I cooked three weeks ago.

Pure water.

Bitter cola.

Sugar cane.

Boiled yam.

Soaked garri and sugar.

Even toothpick.

Did someone curse me from my village?

Ekene does not have two heads.

I went home that day and broke my piggy bank. I gathered twenty one thousand five hundred naira in total and stormed the market to buy enjoyment.

I want to live the life of Ekene.

I returned and stocked my fridge with good things.

Ice cream.

Yogurt.

Meat pie.

Wine.

Glass of milk.

Bournvita.

Cornflakes.

And a host of others.

Now the problem is that since that night I could not sleep.

I had suddenly turned into a night watchman.

That is how I woke up by 10pm thinking it was daybreak.

I walked to the fridge and opened it. I saw all the enjoyment sitting there and I swallowed saliva and went back to bed.

I woke up by 12am, walked to the fridge and opened it.

Swallowed saliva, licked my mouth, closed the fridge and went back to bed.

Only for me to stand up again, went to the fridge and picked a plate of ice cream.

After that one, I picked another plate.

I opened cabin biscuit and started eating it.

In my mind I was busy singing "I will eat small and keep the rest. I will not finish it. I will not finish it."

Now I had finished all the apple and pineapple.

Even the bottle of wine, I was just drinking it like palm wine. It was just too sweet.

I had been opening my fridge since that whole day.

I consumed over twenty thousand naira worth of enjoyment since that night and the next morning.

How do all these big people survive with a fridge filled with so much temptation yet they do not even touch it?

As I am talking to you now, what is remaining in my fridge is just one bottle of wine.
Atleast i tried πŸ˜…

This wine self shall not see the next 30 minutes.

I am not a glutton.

There must be something Ekene is doing that he did not tell me.

There must be a way out of this.

This simply means that if Ekene leaves me in his house for one day, he will speak in tongues by the time he returns to find his fridge empty.

At the end of the day, not everybody has the power to stock their fridge with enjoyment and act like it is nothing.

Going back to my former life is better. 🚢🚢

I am not a glutton.

I don't know what is wrong.

I don't even know how to explain.

Okay this is wh...
