Education Fact Wednesday — #RebuildMySchoolAfrica

Did you know that "learning poverty" — the inability of a 10-year-old to read and understand a simple text — affects more than 100 million children across Sub-Saharan Africa? 📉 (Source: World Bank)

That's roughly nine in ten children at risk of being left behind before they've had a real chance to start.

True structural development isn't built on certificates and ceremonies alone — it's built on infrastructure, standardisation, and equity. Every classroom without electricity, every school without trained teachers, every child without learning materials is a setback to UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, the African Union's Agenda 2063, and the Santos Creations Educational Foundation's Mission 2025–2035 for equitable, quality education across Africa.

NESA Africa, an initiative under the stewardship of the Santos Creations Educational Foundation (SCEF), exists to close that gap. Through our #RebuildMySchoolAfrica campaign, recognition comes attached to real resources — Gala proceeds, merchandise sales, and corporate partnerships fund actual bricks, solar power, and digital labs for under-resourced and special needs schools across the continent.
