In honor of Argentina's victory on their #FIFAWC2026 debut and Lionel Messi’s historic first ever World Cup HAT-TRICK (with a brilliant performance that will be talked about for years to come), we'll start the day sharing the recipe of Messi's absolute favorite food: Milanesa Napolitana!.

Napolitan Milanese is an iconic, traditional and very beloved Argentine dish that consists of a thin, breaded meat cutlet (can be beef or chicken) pan-fried and topped with tomato sauce, a slice of ham, and melted mozzarella cheese, typically served with a side of fries or salad.

Despite its name, the dish does not come from Milan or Naples, Italy. The base "milanesa" is the South American descendant of the Italian cotoletta alla milanese, which was brought over to America by European immigrants.

The "Napolitana" variation was actually invented in the 1940s at a restaurant in Buenos Aires called "Nápoli" (located near the famous Luna Park stadium). Legend has it a chef accidentally burned a milanesa and decided to cover it up with ham, tomato sauce, and cheese, making it similar to a pizza topping. The accidental creation was a massive hit and quickly became a staple throughout the region that brings comfort and joy to millions, including the living legend #LionelMessi ,

Easy to make and absolutely delicious, you must try it soon!. Let us know if you make this fantastic recipe 🩵
