How can a president remain indifferent to the suffering of his citizens? Nigerians are being kidnapped, killed, and displaced daily, yet those in power seem more focused on political battles than on protecting lives.

At a time when the nation needs leadership, security, and justice, many citizens see institutions being used to settle political scores while insecurity continues to spread. A government's first responsibility is the protection of lives and property. Without security, development is impossible, and democracy itself is weakened.

When people no longer feel safe in their homes, on the roads, or in their communities, the question becomes unavoidable: who will be left to govern if citizens continue to live in fear? Leadership must be measured not by political victories, but by the safety, welfare, and confidence of the people.
