Barack Obama Celebrates Njideka Akunyili, Daughter of Dora Akunyili:: Below are Barack Obama's words to her:

"It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle's and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth."

Njideka Akunyili is the daughter of the late Dora Akunyili. Sadly, all of the children have taken asylum in the United States and swore never to set foot in Nigeria again.

"To them, the Nigerian government was responsible for the deaths of both of their parents, Dora Akunyili and her husband. Their father was murdered a few years ago in a pool of blood right on Anambra soil.
