National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has assured party members and supporters that the ADC remains firmly on course for the 2027 elections despite a Federal High Court judgement ordering the party’s deregistration. Describing the ruling as “an arrow fired at the heart of Nigeria’s democracy,” Mark insisted that the decision would be overturned by higher courts.

He questioned the validity of the judgement, noting that the Court of Appeal had previously ordered a stay of proceedings and fixed October 27, 2026, for further hearing. According to Mark, any ruling delivered while that appellate order remains in force raises serious concerns about due process and the rule of law.

Calling for calm among party faithful, Mark maintained that the ADC would continue its political activities and remain on the ballot in 2027. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democratic principles, constitutional rights and providing Nigerians with a credible alternative ahead of the next general election.
