ADAEZE — The First Class in a Wardrobe Drawer
She locked her First Class degree in a drawer every Monday before going to sell secondhand clothes.
Adaeze graduated First Class in Accounting from UNN.
Her family sold land, two generations old, to pay her fees.
She graduated into a naira that had lost half its value and a market with a hiring freeze.
Her classmate, who scored lower, is earning ₦450,000/month because his father plays golf with the right ministry official.
She drew the only rational conclusion: that merit, in Nigeria, is a secondary variable.
"Small hope, in Nigeria, requires a courage that nobody acknowledges."
For every Adaeze who deserved better. Share this. Tag her. Tell her she is seen.
