A defence industry expert has warned that insecurity continues to flourish in areas where local governments are weak, underfunded, or unable to effectively serve communities.

The expert stressed that strengthening local governance, grassroots security structures, and community development is critical to tackling banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats across Nigeria.
