NNEKA'S DIARY XIII

I called Mrs Chucks and told her what happened. She said rejecting the money wasn't necessarily a bad idea, but the manner of rejection wasn't pleasant. From what I described, she felt I had been aggressive and that after the transfer, I should have spent a little more time with him to ensure we parted amicably.
She advised me to wait and see if he would bring it up the next time he called.

One week passed.
Then two.
Bros no call ooo.

I eventually decided to call him.
He picked.
"Hi, how are you and Mary? Hope you people are eating well. I guess you have a cook?"
"Which one should I answer first?" he asked, laughing.
We both laughed.
Then before I could stop myself, I heard myself saying:
"I miss you."
Immediately he replied,
"Same here. You can't imagine how much I miss you."
My heart skipped.
He then told me he would be traveling the following week and would be away for two months.
"Where are you traveling to?" I asked.
"Dubai. Business trip."
"So if I didn't call, you wouldn't have told me?"
"Says who? If it’s Mary she will say “says by who”.
"It isn't funny, you know."
"Okay, I'm sorry. What do I do to be forgiven?"
"Let's see before you travel."
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow. Your house or what do you suggest?"
I froze.
"Do you know my house?"
"My driver will bring me."
"The same man that brought me home?"
"Yes."
We agreed on 3 p.m.
After ending the call, I looked at my phone and smiled.
Kunle was coming to my house.
