Your Excellencies Esteemed Participants of the Harvard University–Led Science of Defeating Malaria Programme

Thank you once again for your visit to Abuja and for engaging with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) during your tour of the NASENI–TROMENT Biotechnologies facility. Your presence and expertise brought valuable visibility to the urgent need for stronger diagnostic and disease‑control capabilities in Nigeria.

While we appreciate NASENI’s stated commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare sovereignty through local manufacturing of medical diagnostic technologies, we also believe that true progress requires transparency, accountability, and consistent follow‑through. Nigeria has seen many promising speeches and public commitments over the decades, but Nigerians are eager to see measurable action, not just announcements respectfully

As partners and observers in this important effort, we respectfully request that:

All project funds and resources be monitored closely to ensure they are used strictly for their intended scientific and public‑health purposes.

Clear timelines and milestones be communicated regarding when large‑scale job creation and manufacturing activities will begin.

Opportunities for Nigerian youths and graduates be made accessible through simple, verifiable identification (such as a national ID or passport), without unnecessary barriers or complicated application processes.

Security and stability concerns—including the root causes of insurgency—continue to be addressed so that Nigeria can attract the investment and infrastructure needed for long‑term scientific and economic growth.

Modern surveillance tools, such as CCTV systems and drones across all 36 states and 774 LGAs, be considered to strengthen public safety and support development efforts.

Nigeria has immense potential, and partnerships like yours can help ensure that commitments made today translate into real improvements for millions of Nigerians. We appreciate your continued engagement and encourage you to maintain active oversight as these initiatives move forward.
