Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep frustration and concern over the continued kidnappings and insecurity affecting Nigerians across Nigeria in the 36 states 774 LGA. While public condemnations are noted, they no longer provide reassurance. Nigerians need to see concrete, measurable action that prevents these incidents from happening in the first place.
Since 1999, the country has faced recurring waves of kidnapping, terrorism, and banditry. The recent abduction in Benin City is yet another reminder that the situation remains dire. Condemnations alone do not protect lives.
We demand you to take decisive steps, including:
Deploying CCTV cameras and surveillance systems across all 36 states and 774 local government areas.
Utilizing drones and modern technology for real-time monitoring and rapid response.
Fixing the root causes of boko haram and other extremist groups, including poverty, unemployment, and lack of education.
Strengthening community policing and intelligence gathering.
Ensuring that security agencies are properly equipped, trained, and held accountable.
Nigerians are tired of photo opportunities, speeches, and promises. We demand action that leads to the safe return of abducted Nigerians and prevents future tragedies.
We demand urgent, coordinated, and transparent efforts to bring back our children and restore safety across the nation in the 36 states 774 LGA
