Côte d'Ivoire achieved Africa's first victory and first three points at the #FIFAWC2026, so we'll start the week with one of their most traditional, most delicious dishes: Kedjenou!.

Kedjenou is a beloved spicy chicken stew that's mean to be cooked slowly in its own juices without adding extra water. Traditionally prepared in a sealed clay pot over hot coals, it combines poultry, fresh vegetables, and aromatics, resulting in a tender mean and rich sauce.

The word Kedjenou comes from the Baoulé language, literally translating to “to shake up”. This refers to the unique cooking method where the pot is shaken to mix the ingredients without ever lifting the lid.
