Finally a platform of our own 🎉🥳.
I've been on many platforms, and anytime I try to post in foreign groups, communities, etc., my post goes straight to pending and never gets approved maybe it never even reaches the admin end. Sometimes on other platforms it just keeps loading until it times out.
What are these boundaries platforms set, especially targeting Africans, especially Nigerians? Our feeds never show foreign content or any educational content at all.
I don't know why many of these platforms feel Africans are scammers or don't deserve good content on their feeds. I feel like there's an agenda going on, that many Western countries don't want to see Africans grow above them, so they try everything possible to suppress us.
That's why I had to leave all Meta platforms and some other platforms, because I really don't get why they suspend or ban your account without any valid reason, and then there's no option to contact support for help. It's either they give you a so-called "help" link to read all sorts of garbage, or an email that never gets checked.
I don't know if it's a crime to connect with people around the world. I'm a freelance photo editor, and most of the time I like to reach out to studios around the world to offer my services, because many of them either can't afford editors from their own countries, or they have a heavy workload and need help. I can be their editor while they remain the photographer.
But on many of these platforms, the moment you message an account outside your country, they automatically suspend or ban your account.
What's the crime? I thought these platforms were built to connect people around the world.
If it's region-based, then change it and set it up so you simply can never find or locate any account outside your own region.
Many of these platforms have algorithms designed to push irrelevant content, especially in Africa either girls showing themselves half-naked, girls twerking here and there, or love stories nobody asked for. The algorithm tends to leave behind business content because they need more advertisers, and it leaves behind educational content or anything helpful, focusing instead on explicit content and comedy. 🤦🏿‍♂️
Many of these platforms don't bring monetisation to Africa early, yet they still feed us with ads.
Before monetisation finally arrived in Africa, they made sure all the Western countries ate to their fill first, then brought the crumbs to Africa.
I feel pain sometimes because we Africans don't have any big platforms of our own.
Yet we have so many so-called billionaires who claim to be so rich, yet can't help aspiring youths with vision.
I still blame the government because of their selfish interests they don't care about the masses.
They're not even putting in any effort to improve the economy.
