RETIRED GENERAL DIES IN CAPTIVITY AS KIDNAPPERS DEMAND RELEASE OF GANG MEMBERS

The Katsina State Ministry of Internal Security has announced the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who reportedly passed away from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension while in captivity alongside his wife.

Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar and his wife, Amina Abubakar, were abducted within Matazu Local Government Area while travelling to Katsina.

A recently circulated video showed the retired army officer nursing a wound on his left foot while in captivity.

Reports indicate that the mastermind of the abduction had demanded the release of three members of his gang, as well as some cattle, as conditions for the couple's freedom.
