This statement was made by a supposed "learned" man. The MTN Nigeria CEO, Karl Toriola, challenged influencers and critics to name countries with truly unlimited mobile data plans, stating that such plans do not exist globally unless users pay a fortune (e.g., about $400 per month). He also argued that data in Nigeria ranks among the four cheapest in the world.

This statement is 100% false. I have been to at least nine countries and have lived in five of them. I have never subscribed to a monthly mobile data plan that cost more than $30, and here when is unlimited, it is unlimited. I'm not sure whether he is well traveled. If he is well traveled and still makes statements like this, then he is a liar.

Most Nigerians do not complain primarily about the price of data. What I constantly see Nigerians complaining about is the quality, durability, and reliability of the service. Sometimes, when you subscribe to a one month data plan, the entire data allocation is exhausted within two weeks.

Therefore, he should publicly apologize for making such a misleading statement. For me he is not capable of the job. MTN has being stealing from Nigerians for many years and no one is saying anything. #WhatstrendingWithOjyOkpe @lekeelekeeeditorial #Nigerians #MTN #Public #AriseNews
